Most of the packing is done. It's hard to pack for 3+ weeks when the weather could be anything from blistering to frigid! I have put in the novel Joan and I selected for us to read in Nantucket: Not surprising . . . the title is Nantucket Nights. I suspect it's a little trashy. . . judging from the cover and the fact that one of the main character's name is Raoul. Sounds like a great pastime for 2 recently turned 60 year olds.
I'm waiting for the car to be finished, then I will take my plants to Sandy. Helene is planning dinner at 5 and Anderson Cooper tickets afterwards for my first night out.
I still have to face 200+ miles on I81, but Casey reminds me that I will have multiple Sheetz stations and the made to order sandwiches to look forward to. (Shout out to Casey! My first "comment"!!! )
See you all on the road. . . .RP PS: I'm still in my fifties!

It is T minus 2 days until lift off. I just finished a grueling but lovely week in DC singing the final Choral Arts concert of the season. I have 36 hours to pack, pay bills, tutor Robbie one more time, get the car worked on, and meet the guy for the invisible fence that is being installed while I'm away. Chester is in "jail" having chased the neighbor's cows! Actually he's at doggy "camp" until I get home from the trip. Apparently he's having a ball, although not necessarily getting along well with others. He's probably running with scissors as well. Ahhhhh. . . .my "free" dog!
Welcome aboard if you're following along. I expect the action to pick up substantially in 48 hours as I begin my first and longest leg of the journey. I hate I81, and I will be driving on it for over 200 miles. I'm a back roads girl, my self, but if you have to get where you're going, you have to follow the highways. Wish me luck! PS - I'm still in my 50's! RP

Turning 60. . . . .
Ahhhh. . .the last weeks of the 50's are cranking down. You are invited to share this experience with me, and follow my 1st -annual-month-long-birthday-bash trip as it leaves the station (well, actually the driveway) on May 1! First stop, Helene's house in Hartford, Connecticut the night of May 1. Met Helene through my dear friends Mary Hannah and Sandy. I LOVE LOVE LOVE it when I'm staying with someone who I didn't even know this time last year. Helene is one of two people who will be kind enough to put me up for a night or two, and whom I didn't know this time last year. Ain't life grand??????? RP
